In 2008, right in the middle of the economic crisis, my father lost his job at a manufacturing plant. With a wife and three kids to feed, he didn't have time to feel sorry for himself. He took every odd job he could find — including fixing a neighbor's broken garage door. That one repair changed everything.

Word spread quickly. Within months, Dad was fixing garage doors all over the neighborhood, then the city, and eventually the entire metro area. He taught me everything he knew — not just how to repair springs and tracks, but how to treat people right, show up on time, and never cut corners.
